The New Supervisor: Top Tips for Taking on Your New Role in Management

New supervisors are often surprised by the vast number of decisions that they are suddenly responsible to make. With no real training, it is hard to find a path to follow while leading your employees. Many new supervisors stumble, and become frustrated. Understanding a few key concepts can take you a long way toward becoming a successful manager.

Learning objectives:

  • Discuss the first two mistakes that every supervisor makes, and how to minimize them.
  • Describe how to structure their work day so that they can both supervise their employees and get their own work done.
  • Recognize what really motivates employees.
  • Examine the five key objectives to create a workplace environment where they are the leader, and their employees happily follow.
